David Morgan – 17 Year Old Tenor

David Morgan  is a 17 year old high school student in Minneapolis Minnesota. As you can hear from the two songs below, he has a remarkably well developed light tenor voice for someone so young. He is currently considering where to continue his vocal training. He now studies with Jean Del Santo at the University of Minnesota.

Of course it’s impossible to tell how a voice this young will develop but Morgan is off to a great start. Here he is in Stefano Donaudy’s O del mio amato ben followed by Verborgenheit by Hugo Wolf. This young man has obviously learned at lot in a very brief time.

  1. I accidentally found an amazing young tenor on youtube. Sergey Romanovsky. The I Capuletti clip is spectabular. And in the Italian style. Depending on vocal size and maturity, he could become as popular as Corelli. Corelli spoiled us so…….. I was lucky enough to hear him in the ’60’s. His departure left a huge gulf……… for me, I haven’t been to a Tosca or Chenier in 40 years. Hope I live long enough to hear another tenor as great.

    David–
\Just heard you on MPR. Fabulous singer. I know of you because I’m an eye patient of your dad’s. In fact, he did my cataract surgery last year and my eyesight has remained good. We will be coming to hear you at Luther this Friday night. Say hello to your dad and maybe we’ll even see him there.
